We were thrilled to perform alongside the amazing Ed, DJAG, and JME on the steps of Sheffield Town Hall.
The event followed an announcement in February by Ed, that his foundation would provide TRACKS with three years of vital funding.
Our young musicians expressed that performing with these experienced artists was "unreal" to them, and some said "it was the best day of their lives."
London-based DJ AG is known for attracting big names to his spontaneous performances, which he announces at short notice on his social media platforms.
He emphasised that giving young talent a platform is "extremely important" to let them "shine."

Students from our Alternative Provision, After School Clubs, Youth Club, Saturday Music School, and Mentoring Programme, along with new mentors who had previously been part of TRACKS, all took to the microphone and impressed the audience both at the event and to the millions streaming online. Both our team and the Foundation were eager to highlight young individuals from varied backgrounds who are dedicated to creating music.
Ed spent time backstage listening to music created by the young people, discussing their lyrics, and offering advice. DJ AG and JME also supported the young artists, providing guidance and encouragement before and after the performances.
The event was live-streamed on DJAG's popular page to millions of fans, gaining significant attention from excited fans and music enthusiasts. Our young people also featured on Look North, ITV Calendar and BBC Radio Sheffield. On the same day, TRACKS released "Spotlight" with support from the Ed Sheeran Foundation, and the artists have used the opportunity to create new music inspired by the star.
