We are thrilled to introduce an exciting project in Southey and Parson Cross, located in north Sheffield. It will begin with a few funded sessions at two local primary schools, a Halloween disco sponsored by the Local Area Committee, and two taster workshops at Southey Library.

We have recently delivered an electric piano, guitars, and other instruments to Southey Library. Additionally, we have started developing a free collection of instructional videos made by students and local musicians, and we will be organising events that encourage young people to create lyrics and experiment with the instruments!

Our goal is to extend our exciting sessions, which are currently mainly offered in the south and centre of Sheffield, to the north. We aim to highlight the local talent and discover young individuals who might develop a passion for music. Our sessions at the library will hopefully spark and interest in music and allow young people to access instruments and resources even when trained staff are not there to run workshops.

How to help:

  • Submit a "how to" video for our collection. If you are a musician and want to share a riff, a melody of a song, etc., please submit it here and feel free to upload it on social media while tagging us @tracks_uk. This will help us expand our online library and bring more music to more people.

  • Help spread the word about our work and the importance of music by sharing our media, creating social media posts, and sending our information to local organizations.

  • Donate to support us in offering these sessions to more young people.
